Community Life at Milken
At Milken Community High School, the role of the community is important. We live according to our values and according to our standards. The values help to frame the kind of school we wish to become, and the standards of respect inform us all about our commonly held assumptions.
We believe in three key standards of respect.
Respect for Self and Others
Respect of Property
Respect for Learning
All our subsequent behaviors are derived from these three key standards. When we respect ourselves and others, we know that "doing the right thing" is a part of daily behavior. We know that our Jewish values support a respect for property, and so we seek to maintain and improve both the environment of the school and the environment of the world. Lastly, one of our most important standards is the respect we bring to learning, as that defines who we are as an academic institution.
