Day of Reflection
Sometimes a student’s behavior is so removed from the community standard, even on the first offense, that it warrants a conversation on whether the student needs to separate from the Milken Community for a period of time. A day of reflection provides the student with a needed opportunity to think about his/her role in the community, engage in T'Shuvah as needed, and then to begin again.
Under these circumstances a student may not attend classes, practices, rehearsals, trips, or any other school-sponsored event. An advisor or dean may recommend to a Principal that a student spend time away from the community to reflect on their behavior and to engage in a process of T'Shuvah in order to return to the community in a positive way.
It is the student’s responsibility to make up all work upon re-entering the community.
