Suspension

Suspension

Sometimes a student’s behavior is so removed from the community standard, even on the first violation, that it warrants a discussion on whether the student needs to be separated from the Milken Community for a duration of time. In all cases, the school will work with the student to develop an appropriate process of reflection and T'Shuvah so that the focus of the disciplinary action is the learning about community values and standards.

Under these circumstances a student may not attend classes, practices, rehearsals, trips, or any other school-sponsored event. An Assistant Principal or faculty member will confer with the principal about whether a student be suspended from school and the nature of the T'Shuvah plan.

It is the student’s responsibility to make up all work. In the Middle School such behavior may affect the student’s admission to high school. Suspensions for behavioral breeches in the high school will be reported to the colleges to which the student is seeking acceptance.
