A Summer Trip to Rome

Milken’s Latin program is excited to offer its first trip to Rome this summer. During the trip, a group of advanced Latin students will explore the eternal city for ten days, including tours of all the main sites in the city, some lesser known, but equally important sites, several museums, and excursion to the ruins of Pompeii. By seeing the very senate floor where Cicero pleaded his cases, the spot where Caesar was made dictator, and other historically important spaces, the students will be able to see first hand what they have been learning and studying.
Milken is using EF Tours to help coordinate the trip, which means the cost of airfare, hotel, admissions to various sites, and some meals are covered in the total cost. EF Tours has worked closely with Mr. Lindsay to plan an itinerary that covers all the necessary locations, while keeping costs as low as possible. Enrollment and the payment plan are done through their website or over the phone.
Please see Mr. Lindsay for details.

In addition to our focus on Rome as the center of ancient Roman culture and history, we will explore the Jewish side of the eternal city, which has been a home to a Jewish population for over two millennia. To this end, we will spend a day in the Jewish Quarter of the city and meet Jewish students in Rome and share Shabbat dinner with them. It is our hope to foster a relationship with a Jewish day school in Rome, which will last for many years.
Rome’s legacy, as on of the true centers of Western Civilization, is massive, and Milken is excited for the opportunity for its students to immerse themselves in its culture, and develop a true amôr for Roma.
