The Summer Academy of Milken Community High School, the Alexander Muss Institute, and Ruppin College have a special relationship with the with the The School of Marine Sciences at Michmoret in Israel. Ruppin College and Milken will be offering a six week credit bearing course in marine science and oceanography beginning in the summer of 2009. This program will involve studying the ecosystems of the ocean life in the Mediterranean, the Dead Sea, and the Red Sea in Israel.

Additionally, students will have the opportunity to live on the Ruppin campus, engage with professors at the college while studying oceanography, and tour Israel. The School of Marine Sciences at Michmoret will evolve to become anational and international Center of academic, educational, cultural, and technological studies and researach of the Mediterranean Sea.

This landmark program begins its first program in the summer of 2009, and we are excited to a be a part of this residential, experiential, and rigorous academic program. Participation in the course will earn Milken students elective science credits suitable for graduation.
