Robin Hood Camp is proud to recognize their low camper to staff ratio, the clarity of vision, and the camp philosophy. Since 1928, families from around the world, searching for the most nurturing, stimulating, challenging, protective, and safe summer camp, have entrusted their children to this camp. At Robin Hood they are committed to the development of their campers on all levels. Their unique location, directly bordering a three-mile lake and the coastal seawaters of Maine’s Penobscot Bay, allows us to offer an unprecedented range of activities and opportunities. While our vibrant waterfront is highly regarded, they also take pride in the quality and variety of their land sports and activities. Campers need not be great athletes or highly competitive in order to succeed at Robin Hood. They need not have prior experience to participate in any of the sports offered, only the willingness to try. Robin Hood is a lifetime sports camp that accents individual skill building and fundamentals and are committed to acquiring top of the line equipment for all their activities to learn these skills. However, the camper who is a competitive athlete also has a place at Robin Hood: they participate in inter-camp competitions and offer advanced champion level instruction for the more competitive and determined players.
Three defining differences between Robin Hood and other general residential camps are: the quality of staff, instruction, and the expansiveness of the program. Most camps offer only a gentle introduction to a dozen or so sports, while at Robin Hood they offer a wider array of activities, many instructed at a high level. The camp prides themselves in finding staff one might expect to find only at specialty camps and annually attract world class, champion caliber water skiers, wake boarders, sailors, martial artists, equestrians, and soccer and tennis coaches, among others.
